The secret achievement, titled "Transmission Received", also seems to point towards the use of the radios in some way. Users have also been uncovering new voices in the game, and it seems forum users are attempting to decipher this puzzle which is exciting news for the many eager gamers looking to find out what Valves next title announcement will be. Valve Forums Discussion: Portal Add a commentPlaystations Worldwide Affected By Bug
It seems that the older Fat models of the PS3 are suffering from issues causing the console fail to connect to PSN and not allow users to play games offline. This problem seems widespread (although only seems to be affecting the older "Fat" models of the console) and users have been complaining that they cannot access their trophies or access the Playstation Network. Currently, speculation is pointing towards the calender being the sole offender, however, Sony have claimed they are working on a fix, whilst declining to pinpoint the actual problem. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. Check back here for updates as they are made available. ( Updates courtesy of Kotaku) UPDATE - Sony has updated on an update, saying "We're narrowing down the issue and continue to work to restore service to all. Updates as soon as we have them." UPDATE 2 - A mass story-telling session on internet gaming forum NeoGAF points towards the issue potentially being related to a calendar bug in older PlayStation 3 consoles, not the PlayStation Network as was first suspected. Bear in mind this is mob science, however, and is by no means official confirmation on the cause of the problem. UPDATE 3 - Posted by Patrick Seybold // Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media As you may be aware, some customers have been unable to connect to the PlayStation Network today. This problem affects the models other than the new slim PS3.
We believe we have identified that this problem is being caused by a bug in the clock functionality incorporated in the system.
Errors include:
We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data. As mentioned above, please be advised that the new slim PS3 is not affected with this error. We are doing our best to resolve the issue and do apologize for any inconvenience caused. For the latest status on this situation please continue to check either the PlayStation.Blog orPlayStation.com. UPDATE 4 - It seems the problem has now been rectified. Here's the latest from the Playstation blog: PlayStation Network Service Restored Posted by Patrick Seybold // Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media
We are aware that the internal clock functionality in the PS3 units other than the slim model, recognized the year 2010 as a leap year. Having the internal clock date change from February 29 to March 1 (both GMT), we have verified that the symptoms are now resolved and that users are able to use their PS3 normally. If the time displayed on the XMB is still incorrect, users are able to adjust time settings manually or via the internet. If we have new information, we will update you through the PlayStation.Blog orPlayStation.com. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
